Isabelle Hoar from Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire Wins the NAF Shining Star Award for March

Young Showjumper Isabelle Hoar from Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire has been awarded the NAF Shining Star Award for March 2014. Aged only 12, Isabelle has been awarded the NAF Shining Star because of the development and commitment that she has shown during her time as a member of the British Showjumping Central Region Junior Academy.

Mandy McGlynn, Lead Coach for the Academy, nominated Isabelle for the NAF Shining Star Award and had the following to say about her nominee “In the time that Isabelle has been with the Junior Academy, she has developed into a classy little rider. Isabelle was recently awarded the most improved rider in both her age group and the Academy overall.

“Isabelle takes her showjumping and her pony very seriously and the combination regularly attends training sessions. They are also always immaculately turned out and Isabelle always has a smile on her face.”

Isabelle has been riding since she was 7 years-old and has been a member of British Showjumping since April 2012. Since joining the Junior Academy she has gained her 1*, 2* and 3* Awards of the NAF Pony Five Star Performance Awards Programme and she has also been a part of the Academy teams. Isabelle has competed her pony Sir Henry III at both British Novice and Discovery, in which the combination have gained their four double clears in both to qualify for the respective second rounds.

On hearing that she had been awarded this month’s NAF Shining Star Award, Isabelle said “I was really excited and proud to hear the news. The reason for joining the Junior Academy was that showjumping is my favourite discipline and I knew that to progress you need expert coaching. I also enjoy meeting other members and I have made some good friends in my Academy, who I enjoy catching up with at shows or at training sessions.

“I’m really grateful to my pony Sir Henry III as he is always so confident and fun to ride. I’d like to thank my Junior Academy Coach, Mandy McGlynn, too for her expert guidance and encouragement.

“During Easter I hope to compete at the Pony of the Year Show and then in May, I’ll start competing in the second rounds to try to get qualified for SCOPE. I am also building my confidence to start competing at Newcomers and I am currently working to achieve my 4* Award.”

Tracey Lloyd, Marketing Manager for NAF commented, “Congratulations Isabelle, your hard work and dedication is truly well deserving of the Shining Star Award.”

The NAF Shining Star Award was introduced when NAF became a British Showjumping Business Partner. The award is for members of a Junior Academy who have shown a great deal of commitment, progression and outstanding behaviour along with their riding ability and much more. Riders are nominated by their lead coach, and then judged and awarded by NAF to one person each month.
