Tri-Zone Airlite Senior Discovery Regional Finals Continue at Felbridge Showground

Felbridge Showground in East Grinstead, West Sussex was the host venue for the third Tri-Zone Airlite Senior Discovery Regional Final of 2013. The regional final was held this weekend on Sunday 19th May 2013 and a total of 61 starting combinations came forward to compete.
Following a well fought competition where 29 combinations made it through into the final jump off, 11 combinations then went on to produce the treble clear required to qualify for the Tri-Zone Airlite Senior Discovery Championship Final, which will be held at the Alexanders Horseboxes British Showjumping Scope Festival (25th – 31st August 2013).
The win was eventually taken by 49 year-old Julie Draper from Ashford, Kent who posted a treble clear in a fantastic time of 48.28 seconds. Julie was on board Lincoln IV, a 6 year-old bay gelding owned by William Muddyman.
Julie topped off a successful day by taking second place. Julie achieved another treble clear, this time on Songs of Love, a 6 year-old bay mare also owned by William Muddyman. This treble clear was achieved in 53.96 seconds to put the combination into second.
In third was 17 year-old Sophie Lincoln from Kent and she achieved her treble clear on board her own 7 year-old bay gelding, Besttimes. The combination produced three clean and clear rounds in 55.33 seconds to ensure a top three finish.
A further 8 riders also achieved a treble clear and a total of 11 combinations qualified for the Tri-Zone Airlite Senior Discovery Championship Final.

The Alexanders Horseboxes British Showjumping Scope Festival 2013 will take place from the 25th – 31st August 2013 at Staffordshire County Showground.
