The Jays Host First Tri-Zone Airlite Senior Discovery Regional Final of 2013

The 2013 Tri-Zone Airlite Senior Discovery Regional Finals kicked off this weekend at The Jays in Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk. The class ran on Saturday 4th May and it proved to be popular, with 46 qualified combinations coming forward.
All of the combinations were aiming to produce the treble clear required to qualify for the Tri-Zone Airlite Senior Discovery Championship Final, which will be held at the Alexanders Horseboxes British Showjumping Scope Festival (25th – 31st August 2013).
After first having to produce two clear rounds, 18 combinations made it through to the final jump off and of these combinations, 10 then went on to produce the crucial third clear.
It was 27 year-old Michael Fursedonn from Brentwood, Essex who took the winner’s spot on his own 5 year-old bay gelding, Darcode. Drawn fifth to go in the final jump off, the combination produced their immaculate third clear in a time of 39.18 seconds to clinch victory.
In second place was 17 year-old Jade Wood from Essex riding her own 13 year-old bay mare, Toskara. This combination produced their treble clear in a time of 42.56 seconds.
Third place was taken by 22 year-old Nathan Grant from Colchester, Essex and he was on board his own 7 year-old bay gelding Bottomline. Their third clear was achieved in 42.99 seconds.
A further 7 riders also achieved their third clear, therefore a total of 10 combinations will now go forward to the Tri-Zone Airlite Senior Discovery Championship Final.

The Alexanders Horseboxes British Showjumping Scope Festival 2013 will take place from the 25th – 31st August 2013 at Staffordshire County Showground.
