Team GBR Squad for the Gijon 5* Nations Cup Announced

Rob Hoekstra, the World Class Showjumping Performance Manager has announced his squad of five that will be travelling to Gijon, Spain for the CSIO 5* Furusiyya Nations Cup competition.

The 5* International Show commences on Thursday 30th July and finishes on 4th August with the Nations Cup taking place on Saturday 2nd August at 14:30 hrs local time. The Grand Prix will then take place on Monday 4th August at midday local time. The Chef d’Equipe accompanying the squad will be Di Lampard.

The squad selected is as follows:

Rob Bevis from Wrexham, Clwyd with Kate Mustill’s 9 year-old grey mare Pebbles IV. As a combination they have been competing together since early last year and have been jumping consistently on the both the national and home international circuit.

Holly Gillott from Loughborough, Leicestershire with Dougie Douglas, a 9 year-old liver chestnut gelding. They jumped double clear in the winning GB team at the 3* Nations Cup competition at Odense, Denmark all the more notable as it was their first appearance on a senior Nations Cup team.

Harriet Nuttall from Yeovil, Somerset with Rupert Nuttall’s 10 year-old chestnut gelding A Touch Imperious. Harriet also made her debut on a senior nations cup team when GB were victorious in Odense where she jumped clear in the first round. 

Yazmin Pinchen from Crawley, West Sussex will be competing her mother Nancy’s 12 year-old British Bred Ashkari. As a combination this will be their first appearance on a senior nations cup team following their appearance in Deauville on a Young Rider Team where they were a member of the winning team.

Laura Renwick, from Maldon, Essex with Bintang, her own and husband John’s 8 year-old British Bred bay gelding with whom she moved up to International level earlier this year.  Bintang won the 7 Year Old Championships at the British Showjumping Young Horse Show at Addington Manor last summer.
