STAINSBY GRANGE’S WINNING TEAM HEADS FOR THE BRITISH OPEN

Qualifying competitions to find a team to go through to the British Open in the new British Showjumping/Riding Club and Pony Club Team competition held at Stainsby Grange Equestrian Centre in February produced a strong team to go forward.
The 128cm winner was 9 year old Katie Waldock – Smith from Ware, Hertfordshire riding the evergreen 21 year old Duncrynes Jungle Bunny who stormed to victory in 31.86 seconds.
10 year old Katie Pownall from Nottingham headed the 138cm class with the 10 year old skewbald mare My Lucky Penny with a very fast clear round in 29.44 seconds.
The 148cm class was won in fine style by the 5 year old bay mare La Hinch Katie ridden by 13 year old Romilly Simmons from Taunton, Somerset going clear in 32.65 seconds.
This exciting new competition is for new members of British Showjumping who have joined since the 1st January 2008 and existing members of British Riding Clubs or The Pony Club who must become members of British Showjumping to be eligible to compete.
