Squibb Group Pony Foxhunter Second Rounds Also Start at Weston Lawns Equitation
Monday 13 May 2013

Weston Lawns Equitation in Coventry, Warwickshire also hosted the first of the Squibb Group Pony Foxhunter Second Rounds during their Pony Premier Show and this particular class was held on Sunday 12th May 2013. A total of 52 pony and rider combinations came forward to compete.
With three direct qualifying tickets available for the Squibb Group Pony Foxhunter Championship Final at the Horse of the Year Show (HOYS), all of the starting combinations were vying for one of these tickets.
From all the starters, 4 combinations went on to produce two clear rounds to make it through into the final jump off.
The winner’s spot was taken by 14 year-old Charlotte Ash from Tyne and Wear and she won the second round on board Aughnashammer, a 9 year-old bay gelding owned by Shirley Ash. The combination collected 4 faults in the final jump off, but their time of 42.26 seconds ensured that victory was theirs.
The combination in second was 16 year-old Amy Inglis from West Sussex and Munsboro Silver Lining, an 11 year-old grey gelding owned by Mandy Hall. Amy and Munsboro Silver Lining also added 4 faults to their final score, but a time of 46.23 seconds was enough to ensure a second place finish.
In third was 16 year-old Jenna Palmer-Evans from Warwickshire and she was on board Byrneskill Penny, an 8 year-old roan mare owned by Christopher Evans. This combination also finished on 4 faults, but with a time of 48.88 seconds.
With the top three taking the direct qualifying tickets for the Squibb Group Pony Foxhunter Championship Final at the Horse of the Year Show (HOYS); the riders and ponies finishing in fourth and fifth just missed out on HOYS. However, they did take home the chance to compete at The Alexanders Horseboxes British Showjumping Scope Festival 2013.
