Squibb Demolition Pony Foxhunter Second Round at Field House Equestrian Centre

The second of the Squibb Demolition Pony Foxhunter Second Rounds were this weekend (Sunday 20th May 2012) at Field House Equestrian Centre in Staffordshire.

Up for grabs at this second round were three direct qualifying tickets for the Squibb Demolition Pony Foxhunter Championship Final at the Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) and the 27 rider and pony starting combinations were all vying for one of these tickets.

From the total number of starters, six combinations produced two clear rounds to make it through into the final jump off. The final jump off saw four riders collect a third clear and the top three secured their qualifying places.

The winner of the class was 14-year-old Faye Adams from the West Midlands and she won the class aboard Sarah Billing’s Cisco Bay II. Faye’s jump off time off 37.40 seconds gave her nearly three seconds clear over the second placed combination of Beth Vernon and Murca’s Vesuvius.

Beth rode Peter Charles’ Murkas Vesuvius clear over the jump off course in a time of 40.38 seconds to secure her place in the Squibb Demolition Pony Foxhunter Championship Final at HOYS.

The third qualifying place went to 15-year-old Emily Hawcroft. Emily rode her mother’s (Wendy Hawcroft) Toy Story III home in a time of 40.56 seconds to clinch the third and final qualifying spot.

The riders and ponies who took fourth and fifth place took home the chance to compete at the Victory Shavings British Showjumping Scope Festival (26th August – 1st September 2012).
