SouthView Equestrian Centre in Winsford, Cheshire held their Pony Premier over the Bank Holiday weekend, bringing together the country’s keen pony riders to do battle for the qualification places on offer.
Pony Foxhunter Second Round – Sunday 28th May 2017
Producing the only double clear within the time allowed, 12 year-old Tatiane Mauree from Newbury, Berkshire scooped first place on board Horseabout Zibu, a 7 year-old bay mare owned by Arlina Mauree. This pair stopped the clock in 45.55 seconds.
The top three combinations secured a ticket straight to October’s Pony Foxhunter Championship Final at the Horse of the Year Show, whilst the rider and ponies placed fourth and fifth took home the chance to compete in the Pony Foxhunter Masters at the British Showjumping National Championships in August.

Pony Showjumper of the Year – Monday 29th May 2017
Sixteen year-old Fraser Reed from St Andrews, Fife took victory in the Pony Showjumper of the Year qualifier on board Jiminy Cricket, a 14 year-old bay gelding owned by Aileen Reed. This combination produced a double clear in 37.82 seconds.
The top three went on to secure the Horse of the Year Show places available, whilst the pair in fourth took home the chance to compete at the British Showjumping National Championships.

HOYS 128cm Qualifier – Monday 29th May 2017
It was 9 year-old Izabella Rogers from Chelmsford, Essex who took top spot on board Whinney Lass, a 14 year-old grey gelding owned by Nicola Rodgers. This pair gave a clean performance for the only treble clear of the class as they crossed the finish line in 44.52 seconds.
The top three combinations took home a place in the HOYS 128cms Championship Final held at the prestigious Horse of the Year Show in October.

The Horse of the Year Show 2017 will take place from the 4th – 8th October at Birmingham’s NEC. The British Showjumping National Championships 2017 will take place during the 8th – 13th August at the National Agricultural and Exhibition Centre (NAEC), Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.
