QUALIFICATION GOES DOWN THE LINE

15 year old Abigail Newbery from Southampton and Pauldary’s Pocket Rocket won the first of two John Whitaker International Winter JA Classic qualifiers at Aintree International Equestrian Centre in February with the fastest of three triple clear rounds in 43.93 seconds. Second place went to 13 year old Amy Inglis from Haywards Heath, West Sussex riding Nils d’Hurl ‘Vent who completed clear in 46.06 seconds. Both first and second had already qualified so the first qualifying place went to the third placed combination of 14 year old Alice Basey-Fisher, from Beccles, Suffolk, riding The Future who completed their third clear round in 48.29 seconds..
The next four places fourth to seventh had already qualified so the second qualifying place went to eighth placed 14 year old Beth Vernon from Mansfield Woodhouse, Notts. riding Cinderella Girl who finished on eight faults in the third round in 49.78 seconds. The third qualifying place went to Amy Inglis riding the 25 year old Gold Harvest who having jumped two clear rounds retired in the  second jump off.
