Pyecombe Horse Show Host an EquestrianClearance.com Senior Newcomers Second Round

The fifth EquestrianClearance.com Senior Newcomers second round took place this weekend continued at Pyecombe Horse Show at Brendon Stud in West Sussex this weekend. The class was held on Saturday 29th June 2013 and a total of 71 starters came forward to compete.

Up for grabs at this second round were two direct qualifying tickets for the EquestrianClearance.com Senior Newcomers Championship Final at the Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) and all of the combinations competing in this second round came with the aim of taking one of these tickets home.

From the starters, 21 combinations went on to produce two clear rounds to make it through into the final jump off. In the jump off, 5 combinations went on to achieve a treble clear and the times dictated the places.

The win was taken by 18 year-old David Corcoran, who is based at Oakingham Stud in Newbury, Berkshire. David won the second round on board Sweet Cinnamon, a 6 year-old bay gelding owned by Oakingham Stud. The combination posted a treble clear in 33.60 seconds to take the class win.

Second place was taken by 50 year-old Tracy Priest from Cranleigh, Surrey on her own 7 year-old chestnut mare, Market Irminka, Their third clear was achieved in 33.70 seconds.

The first two horse and rider combinations, disregarding those already qualified, will qualify for the Horse of the Year Show. The first five, disregarding those already qualified, will qualify for the Alexanders Horseboxes British Showjumping Scope Festival 2013. Horses and riders that jump a treble clear also qualify for the Alexanders Horseboxes British Showjumping Scope Festival 2013.

NB: Qualifications will be updated pending grading of results, disregarding those already qualified.

The Horse of the Year Show 2013 will take place from the 9th – 13th October 2013 at the Birmingham NEC.

The Alexanders Horseboxes British Showjumping Scope Festival 2013 will take place from the 25th – 31st August 2013 at Staffordshire County Showground.
