Nicole Lockhead Anderson secures Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Round win at SouthView Equestrian Centre

The Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Round drew 102 pony riders from all over the country to compete at the SouthView Equestrian Centre Pony Premier in Winsford, Cheshire and it was Nicole Lockhead Anderson who secured first place.

With two Horse of the Year Show tickets on offer for this October’s Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Championship Final, it proved to be an action packed first two rounds of jumping before leaving just eighteen talented combinations to do battle against the clock in the final jump off.

Fifteen year-old Nicole Lockhead Anderson from Banchory, Aberdeenshire jumped straight into first place on board Gangnam Style II, an 8 year-old bay gelding owned by Claire Lockhead. From a late draw, this pair produced a lightning fast clear round over the technical course to secure a treble clear in 36.11 seconds.

Second place was scooped up by Anoushka Mauree, aged 13, from Newbury, Berkshire riding Arlina Mauree’s 9 year-old grey gelding, Miami Moonbeam. This partnership gave a strong challenge as they crossed the finish line with all the fences still standing in 36.74 seconds.

The riders and ponies that finished in third to fifth took home the chance to compete in the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Masters at the British Showjumping National Championships.
