MEMBERSHIP/REGISTRATION CARDS & RENEWAL DATES

Monday 25 June 2012

The 1st of July 2012 will see changes to the format of your membership/registration cards in addition to the dates that they fall due for renewal.

Membership and Registration cards will be changing to a plastic card format.  They will carry the same information as the current paper-based ones but their new format will mean they are much more robust and will avoid the issues which are often seen with many cards becoming damaged and illegible.

It is imperative that you keep the cards with you when at a show.  Without being able to produce them as proof of a valid membership/registration you will be required to purchase a day ticket if you wish to compete.   This could also result in you not being able to compete in specific classes should they not be eligible for day ticket entry.

In addition to it being an instrumental requirement for insurance purposes it is also instrumental in ensuring fair competition and show venues have all been reminded that these checks need to be in place.   If your membership card is damaged and unable to be read clearly please contact the Membership Department to obtain a copy.

Another change in policy which will be commencing from the 1st July 2012 is that the renewal date of your membership and horse/pony registrations will now run until the end of the month in which they would have fallen due.  Therefore, if you take out an annual membership on the 20th July 2012, it will now run until the end of July 2013.

We trust that this will allow you to keep track and diarise your membership/registration renewal dates in an easier way than the current process when organising your show calendar and qualifiers.

British Showjumping would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your membership and we hope that you feel the above steps are positive ones.  Should you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact the Membership Department on 02476 698800
