KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Regional Finals Continue at Vicarage Farm
Tuesday 14 May 2013

Vicarage Farm in Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey also hosted a KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Regional Final on Sunday 12th May 2013 and the class attracted a total of 27 starters.
All of those who started in the regional final were aiming to produce a treble clear and 5 combinations duly achieved this. A treble clear ensures that a combination qualifies for the KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Championship Final, which will be held at the Alexanders Horseboxes British Showjumping Scope Festival (25th – 31st August 2013).
After producing two clear rounds, 6 combinations made it through to the final jump off and 5 then went on to produce a treble clear.
It was the penultimate combination in the final jump off that went on to win the class and the win was taken by 17 year-old Jordan Barnes from Buckinghamshire. Jordan rode It’s Mickey, a 6 year-old grey gelding owned by Colin Barnes. The combination’s treble clear in a quick time of 38.66 seconds ensured that they finished ahead of the rest of the field.
Finishing in second was 40 year-old Nick Barnes from Bentley, Hampshire and he rode a fantastic treble clear on board Chennai, a 6 year-old grey mare owned by Old Lodge. This combination produced their third clear in a time of 39.42 seconds.
Nick also achieved another treble clear, this time on Cha Cha, a 6 year-old black mare owned by Irina Abramovich. This treble clear was achieved in 42.06 seconds to put the combination into third.
A further 2 riders also achieved their third clear and therefore a total of 5 combinations will now go forward to the KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Championship Final.
