KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Regional Finals 2013 Begin at Golden Cross Equestrian Centre

The first of the KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Regional Finals 2013 was held this weekend (Saturday 11th May 2013) at Golden Cross Equestrian Centre in Hailsham, East Sussex. The regional final attracted a good number of entries and a total of 32 combinations started.
All of the combinations were competing with the aim of producing the treble clear required to qualify for the KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Championship Final, which will be held at the Alexanders Horseboxes British Showjumping Scope Festival (25th – 31st August 2013).
After producing two clear rounds, 7 combinations made it through to the final jump off and 6 of these combinations went on to produce the desired treble clear.
The win was taken by the first combination to ride in the jump off. It was 18 year-old Elinor Strapp from East Sussex who took the win and she was on board the 7 year-old bay gelding, Diamond Nosey, owned by Tamara Strapp. The combination led the jump off from the start after posting a treble clear in a fantastic time of 38.35 seconds.
In second place was 15 year-old Isabelle Tomkins from West Sussex and she rode Tanktastic, an 11 year-old owned by Christopher Tomkins. This combination produced their treble clear in a time of 39.47 seconds.
In third place was 48 year-old Judi Piper-Dadswell from Hailsham, East Sussex and she was on board her own 7 year-old dapple grey mare Contendra II. Their third clear was achieved in 40.87 seconds.
A further 3 riders also achieved their third clear and therefore a total of 6 combinations will now go forward to the KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Championship Final.

The Alexanders Horseboxes British Showjumping Scope Festival 2013 will take place from the 25th – 31st August 2013 at Staffordshire County Showground.
