John Whitaker MBE and Argento, the 12 year-old bay stallion owned by his wife (Clare) won the €50,000 Vejer De La Frontera CSI 3* Grand Prix in Spain yesterday, Sunday 23rd February.

With eight riders having jumped clear in the first round and then five of the eight putting in another clear John’s performance was not only foot-perfect but also incredible fast to put him in lead.  Producing a stunning clear in a time of 40.03 was more than enough to relegate Eduardo Alvarez Aznar for Spain and Rokfeller de Pleville Bois Margo into 2nd who stopped the clock in a time of 42.35 seconds.  3rd place was taken by Vincent Voorn for Holland with Quinlan with their double clear in a time of 43.09 seconds.
