Jake Saywell tops British dominated Grand Prix results in Vejer de la Frontera

Sunday 25 February 2018

Jake Saywell and Havinia van de Roshoeve won the CSI 3* Sunshine Tour Grand Prix in Vejer de la Frontera, Spain this afternoon.

The field contesting the title was a huge one with fifty-six starters coming forward and only thirteen of them managing to post a first round clear.  For Great Britain, it was an incredible representation with seven riders coming forward making it half of the field that were flying the Union Flag.

A total of seven combinations posted a second round clear, with the top three placings all being secured by Brits.  Jake took pole position with his clear in a time of 41.19 seconds whilst just a fraction of a second behind them were Guy Williams and Rouge de Ravel with their time of 41.75 seconds.

Peter Charles with ABC Quantum Cruise, a horse which he holds in extremely high regard, finished 3rd with their time of 41.78 seconds whilst Holly Smith with Hearts Destiny took 7th place as the final double clear Brit.
