Horse & Hound Senior Foxhunter Second Round at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre

Another popular class at the Summer Classic Show at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre in Buckingham was the Horse & Hound Senior Foxhunter Second Round which took place earlier on today. Sixty-nine starters came forward.

Also up for grabs at this second round were two direct qualifying tickets for the Horse & Hound Senior Foxhunter Championship Final at the Horse of the Year Show and all of the competitors were aiming to take one of these tickets home.

After two well fought rounds of competition, ten combinations achieved the two clear rounds needed to make it through into the final jump off. Four combinations then went on to secure a treble clear, which resulted in the clock once again becoming crucial in deciding the allocation of the places.

The fastest treble clear of the class was produced by Guy Williams from Canterbury, Kent and he was on board Gorre, an 8 year-old bay gelding owned Valerie Whitfield. This combination led the jump off from the very start after being drawn first to go. They produced the only sub 40.00 seconds treble clear after crossing the finish line in 39.27 seconds and this was to be unbeatable.

Helen Tredwell took second with Sebastian VII, an 8 year-old bay gelding owned by Stella Furnival. Helen produced three immaculate rounds from her ride to secure their treble clear in 43.91 seconds.

The first two horse and rider combinations, disregarding those already qualified, will qualify for the Horse of the Year Show. The first five, disregarding those already qualified, will qualify for the Alexanders Horseboxes British Showjumping Scope Festival. Horses and riders that jump a treble clear also qualify for the Alexanders Horseboxes British Showjumping Scope Festival.
