HARRY CHARLES DOMINATES IN THE HAGEN GRAND PRIX’S

Yesterday morning saw British pony rider Harry Charles take the top spot in the Pony Grand Prix at the Hagen Future Champions Show in Germany.
A stylish performance from 13 year-old Harry from Hampshire saw him fend off the challenge from the other 61 competitors tackling the 1.35m course. Harry was on board the 13 year-old chestnut gelding, Moneymaker III, owned by Peter Charles MBE and Team Murka Ltd.
Harry produced one of only nine clears in the first round and his faultless clear in the jump off in a time of 37.30 seconds ensured that he could not be beaten. Harry’s closest rival was Kajsa Karlsson from Sweden on Ix de L Aulne. This combination’s double clear was achieved in 38.37 seconds.
Saturday was also a successful day for Harry, this time in the Children On Horses Grand Prix. Harry, with Milord D’Elle, a 13 year-old chestnut gelding, took second place with a fantastic double clear in a time of 38.38 seconds. Harry was one of only seven riders to produce a double clear in this Grand Prix.
The British youth teams are sponsored by Fairfax Saddles. It is Fairfax’s primary aim to improve the performance of the competition horse. All the saddles and girths are developed using the most advanced technology and are tested extensively. All research and design work is carried out under the direction of Vanessa Fairfax, an ex-International showjumper and University qualified designer. The company is based in Walsall and manufactures all its own products.
The GB Showjumping Teams are strongly supported by the UK Sport Lottery funded BEF World Class Programme. They Pony teams are further supported by Champion Hats, Next and Animo.
