Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Second Round at Royal Leisure Centre

The Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Second Rounds continued at Royal Leisure Centre in Henfield, West Sussex on Sunday 28th October 2012. The venue played host to a Dodson & Horrell 1.15m National Amateur Second Round.

 

Following a competitive season of first round competitions, competitors rode for the chance to qualify for the Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Championships, which take place at Aintree International Equestrian Centre in November 2012 and all of the starting combinations were all hoping to secure one of the twelve direct qualifying tickets on offer for the Championships. 

 

The 1.15m National Amateur Second Round saw three starting combinations begin their qualifying campaign and two eligible combinations finished in contention following on from the first ridden round. 

 

The top spot was shared by 32-year-old Nadine Mulgrew from Horley, Surrey and 33-year-old Michelle Blunt from Reigate, Surrey. Both riders rode an immaculate clear in the first round of the competition to share the top spoils.

 

Nadine rode her own 15-year-old chestnut gelding, Utah Van Het Westleven and the combination achieved their clear in a time of 58.36 seconds to secure a spot in the Championship Final. 

 

Michelle rode her own nine-year-old bay mare, Con Amour and this combination achieved their clear in 60.39 seconds.

= 1st Michelle Blunt riding Con Amour – 0 – 60.39 seconds 

 

The Dodson & Horrell National Amateur & Veteran Championships 2012 take place from the 15th November – 18th November 2012 at Aintree International Equestrian Centre.
