Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Second Round at Norfolk Showjumping Club

The 0.90cm Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Second Round at the Norfolk Showjumping Club in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk attracted 17 starting combinations for the competition held on Saturday 6th October 2012. Following months of competition in the Dodson & Horrell National Amateur First Rounds, riders were competing in order to qualify for the Championship Final. 

  

All of the combinations starting in the Dodson & Horrell 0.90cm National Amateur Second Round were all hoping to secure one of the twelve direct qualifying tickets on offer for the Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Championships, which take place at Aintree International Equestrian Centre in November 2012.

 

This 0.90cm National Amateur Second Round saw ten combinations make it through to the jump off. In the jump off, five combinations achieved a double clear and the times decided the places. 

 

The top spot was filled by 19-year-old Hannah Vincent from Norwich, Norfolk and she was on board her own 15-year-old grey gelding, Phantom Dancer. This combination cleared all seven fences in the jump off in a time of 31.87 seconds to seal the win and a place in the Championship Final. 

 

Second place was secured by 27-year-old Alison Lee from Fakenham, Norfolk and she achieved her place in the Championship Final on board her own 13-year-old gelding, Suzuki. A faultless round in the jump off in a time of 34.15 seconds was enough to ensure a top two finish.

 

Third place was taken by 18-year-old Charlotte Long from Norfolk and she rode Silverbridge Duncan, a nine-year-old gelding owned by Sarah Long. This combination posted an immaculate clear in the jump off in a time of 35.02 seconds. 

 

A further seven riders also achieved their qualification for the Dodson & Horrell 0.90cm Championship Final.

6th Charlotte Peasley riding Mill View Bay – 0/4 – 33.22 seconds

7th Alison Lee riding Axel KM – 0/4 – 33.80 seconds

8th Charlotte Peasley riding Robyn Peternella – 0/4 34.81 seconds

9th Claudia Owens riding Dumbledores Phoenix – 0/4 – 47.06 seconds

10th Dawn Bloyce riding Lola Lady – 0/8 – 45.71 seconds 

 

The Dodson & Horrell National Amateur & Veteran Championships 2012 take place from the 15th November – 18th November 2012 at Aintree International Equestrian Centre.
