Dodson & Horrell 1.05m National Amateur Second Round at Scottish National Equestrian Centre

The Scottish National Equestrian Centre in Broxburn, West Lothian held a Dodson & Horrell 1.05cm National Amateur Second Round on Saturday 13th September 2014 and a total of ten starters came forward to contest it.

Each starter was aiming to collect one of the direct qualifying places on offer for the Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Championships, which will take place at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool during the 19th – 23rd November 2014.

Just three combinations produced the first round clear required for a place in the jump off and two of these combinations then went on to secure a double clear. All three combinations did however secure a place in the Championship Final.

Victory in this second round was taken by 21 year-old Susan Robson from Carluke, Lanarkshire on her own 8 year-old grey mare Barra Hill. The combination produced the fastest double clear of the class to cross the finish line in just 38.08 seconds.

Second place went to 45 year-old Margo King from Airdrie, Lanarkshire and she rode her own 11 year-old bay mare Davina Vant Keldertje. They also produced two foot perfect rounds, gaining their double clear in 41.69 seconds.

Megan Sheret (18) from Dunfermline, Fife took third place on Goldata, an 11 year-old chestnut mare owned by Stephen Sheret. After two rounds of competition, this combination finished on 17 faults in 64.43 seconds.
