With a high standard of jumping on show, the first round saw the starting lineup of forty-three horses and riders whittled down to an extremely competitive twenty-nine for the jump off.

As the sixth rider on the course, William Shand from Dudley, West Midlands knew he had his work cut out to produce a winning round with so many talented competitors set to follow him but he pulled out all the stops to achieve the desired round. Riding Lindi Lee’s 15 year-old bay gelding, Grangewood Aladdin, the pair crossed the finish line in a lightning 24.23 seconds with a double clear and first place in the bag.

Second place went to Carole Gleave who travelled from Preston, Lancashire with her own 7 year-old bay mare, Bellatrix IV. This pair posted their double clear just a fraction of a second behind William in 24.65 seconds.

Tara Morris from Porthmadog, Gwynedd scooped up third place on board her own 9 year-old bay gelding, Keltek Beau. This partnership posted a double clear in 25.43 seconds.
