Dodson & Horrell 0.85m & 0.95m National Amateur Second Rounds at Glebe Farm Equestrian Centre

Glebe Farm Equestrian Centre in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire held two Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Second Rounds last Sunday and competitors came forward with the aim of qualifying for the 0.85m and 0.95m Championships which will be hosted during the Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Championships at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool (18th – 22nd November).

Dodson & Horrell 0.85m National Amateur Second Round 

Spectators enjoyed watching a fourteen horse jump off for this second round it was Georgina Pudge from Ledbury, Herefordshire who secured the win. 

On board her own 10 year-old palomino gelding Dizzie Rascal IV, Georgina was drawn fifth to go in the jump off. After producing a double clear in a time of 32.44 seconds, Georgina and Dizzie Rascal’s round proved to be unbeatable. 

Second place went to 16 year-old Sophia Fox from Greenfield, Bedfordshire with her own 15 year-old bay gelding Ryan Again. This combination produced their double clear in a time of 33.13 seconds to secure their place in the line-up.

Marian Gore from Uxbridge, Middlesex took third with her own 17 year-old chestnut gelding Carbon Copy V after they laid down their double clear in 33.83 seconds.

Dodson & Horrell 0.95m National Amateur Second Round

Sophia Fox went one better in this second round to take victory on her ride in the 0.85m second round, Ryan Again, Jumping third in the jump off, the pair delivered yet another double clear, achieving this one in just 31.73 seconds. This gave them over three seconds in hand over their nearest challengers.

Josceline Startin-Taylor from Burton on Trent, Staffordshire finished in second place on board Annabel Startin’s 7 year-old bay gelding Detroit VI. They produced their double clear in 35.09 seconds.

Sophia Fox enjoyed further success in this second round as she also went on to secure third place with her own 9 year-old black mare Roxborough Black Rain. A double clear in 36.75 seconds saw this combination take their podium finish.
