Cushionbed British Showjumping Scope Festival 2011

A thrilling week of Showjumping returns to Staffordshire County Showground when the long established Cushionbed British Showjumping Scope Festival 2011 embarks on its 15thconsecutive year. The show runs from Sunday 28th August to Saturday 3rd September 2011, and plays host to a week of the very best in national Showjumping with over 70 classes for riders aged under 10 to over 60 years all competing for a total prize fund of over £125,000.
This year’s show continues to be sponsored by, Cushionbed, the first manufacturers of recycled wood fibre bedding of its kind in Europe.
An exciting timetable of events takes place throughout the week, the real fun gets underway on Tuesday afternoon in the Championship Arena with the Equibox & Animo UK Children on Horses Championships, the line up later on that evening includes the Horse and Hound Foxhunter Masters.
On Wednesday evening there are two superb classes the Smallman Family National Ladies Championship followed by the Midland Equestrian National Gentlemen’s Championship.
A particular highlight of Thursday night’s calendar of events is the ever popular Whittaker Coachbuilders National Senior Rider Championship which is the penultimate class of the evening.
Onto Friday night now and the actions really beginning to hot up, early on in the evening is the National 1.30m Open, but one of the great entertainment classes of the show takes place at the very end of the days competition, the ever popular Cats & Pipes Pairs Challenge, always a real crowd pleaser.
Finally to Saturday night which offers a jam packed schedule of Showjumping beginning with the popular Shaw Farm Stud National Tiny Tots Championship, followed by the great Coffee Dunglenn 148cms Championship, which leads onto the thrilling Bilton Ward Developments Midget & Mighty Master Relay, culminating in the most prestigious championship of the show Cushionbed British Showjumping National Championship which has a total prize fund of £21,000 with £7,000 to the winner.
The show incorporates many National Championship Finals. Qualifiers have taken place around the country throughout the year, culminating in these prestigious finals.
Showjumping will take place in the indoor Championship and four outdoor arenas from approximately 8.30am, the indoor Championship Arena continuing until approximately 10.30pm. Entry is free each day until 6:00pm; it is then £5 per ticket until 8pm when the gates close. Admittance to the showground between 6pm – 7am will be restricted to those wearing wristlets (or producing a purchased which is valid until 8pm only), car parking is free
