Congratulations to Beth Vernon

Beth Vernon aged 15 years old from Mansfield, Nottinghamshire has had an unbelievable 2011, collecting several awards acknowledging her successes.
Not only has she achieved team and individual gold at the Pony European Championships but she has also had numerous successes including the British Masters, CSIOP Hagen, CSIOP Zilveren, Belgium where she was placed 1st , Pony of the Year Show and The Blue Chip Championships.
Beth's first award recognising her tremendous year was at the British Showjumping Awards ball where she picked up the title of best pony rider of the year.
Following on from this Beth was awarded Junior Sportsperson of the Year at the Mansfield Sports Awards. The Junior Sportsperson title was hotly contested with 8 other athletes shortlisted for the title.
Her latest achievement came last night, having been nominated for the Nottinghamshire Junior Sportsperson of the Year. Beth, along with around 300 people attended the awards evening for the Nottinghamshire Sports Awards an annual celebration of sporting excellence. Beth was presented the Nottinghamshire Junior Sportsperson of the year by Nottinghamshire broadcast presenter Andrew James.
Beth’s mum Allyson commented, ‘The other nominees were tremendous athletes, I think it’s just sinking in exactly what Beth and her ponies achieved last year.’
