Christina Richardson-Kenyon tops the Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Second Round at Dean Valley

A committed field took on the Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Second Round at Dean Valley in Stockport, Cheshire and it was Christina Richardson-Kenyon who dominated the leader board to take top spot.

Securing a place in the Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Championship Final, which will be held during the British Showjumping National Championships in August was the aim for each of the sixty-four riders who started the class. Following two testing rounds, twenty-one talented horse and rider combinations were left to do battle against the clock in the final jump off.

Christina Richardson-Kenyon from Poulton-Le-Fylde, Lancashire proved her consistency as she rode Quidam De Grand I, a 9 year-old bay gelding owned by Flight View Livery & Stud to a first place finish. This partnership had delivered two solid clear rounds to take their place in the jump off, where they went on to deliver a further clear round but this time picked up the pace to cross the finish line in 39.15 seconds. Christina was also the lucky recipient of a numnah and a leather headcollar, which were kindly provided by Stephen Hague of Dean Valley Farm Ltd.

Jumping into second place was Sue Pountain who had travelled from Uttoxeter, Staffordshire with her 8 year-old dark bay gelding, Arenal Den Castell. This pair finished their treble clear performance in 40.67 seconds.

Camille Crow from Cannock, Staffordshire took home third place with John Brindley’s 7 year-old bay mare, Fury IV. This combination stopped the clock on a treble clear 41.00 seconds.

With another six combinations also achieving a treble clear, a total of nine combinations now go forward to the Nupafeed Supplements Senior Discovery Championship Final.
