Chloe Templeton wins the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Round at The Scottish Home Pony

In a closely fought Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Round at the Scottish Home Pony held at the Scottish National Equestrian Centre in Broxburn, West Lothian, it was Chloe Templeton who produced an accurate and speedy clear round to secure first place.

As the penultimate opportunity for pony riders to claim one of the two Horse of the Year Show tickets on offer for this October’s Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Championship Final, a competitive class unfolded. After two challenging rounds, just nine combinations remained to go head to head against the clock in the final jump-off.

Fourteen year-old Chloe Templeton from Dumfermline, Fife rode in to first place on board Still Got Me, a 6 year-old bay gelding owned by Laura Templeton. This combination took on the newly shortened course to deliver a third stylish round, leaving all the fences standing for a treble clear in 38.13 seconds.

Scooping second place was Tatiane Mauree from Newbury, Berkshire riding Arlina Mauree’s 7 year-old bay mare, Horseabout Zibu. This pair produced the final treble clear of the competition as they crossed the finish line in 42.89 seconds.

The riders and ponies that finished in third to fifth took home the chance to compete in the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Masters at the British Showjumping National Championships.
