Chloe Reynolds Wins KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Second Round at Bicton Arena

Saturday’s KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Second Round took place at Bicton Arena in Budleigh Salterton, Devon and it was Chloe Reynolds who showed her prowess as she took home first place on board Jane Reynolds’ Grenadier Volo.

The action got under way with fifty starters all hopeful of gaining a qualification place in the KBIS Insurance Senior British Novice Championship Final, which will be held during the British Showjumping National Championships this summer. Poles fell and combinations retired until just fourteen able competitors were left to fight it out in the final jump off.

Eighteen year-old Chloe Reynolds from Chard, Somerset took the top spot with Grenadier Volo, a 5 year old bay gelding owned by Jane Ann Reynolds. Drawn close to the start of the jump off, this pair lead from the front after producing what turned out to be an unbeatably fast round as she locked down her treble clear in just 41.89 seconds.

Second place went to Leigh Smallacombe from Ivybridge, Devon riding her own 6 year-old grey gelding, Odyssey B. This pair took on the difficult task of being first to go, but put in a sterling performance to take a second place finish in 48.09 seconds.

Nicole Bates from Bognor Regis, West Sussex scooped up the final qualification place on board her own 5 year-old bay gelding, Billy Prompt. This combination crossed the finish line on their treble clear score  in 53.57 seconds.

With another four combinations also achieving a treble clear, a total of seven combinations now go forward to the KBIS Insuranc Senior British Novice Championship Final.
