Chloe Aston takes the Vilamoura Grand Prix

Monday 23 April 2012

Young Rider Chloe Aston from Tring in Hertfordshire took the Vilamoura €24,000 Grand Prix yesterday. With the CSI2* International event seeing riders from across the World descend upon its grounds in Portugal, this was going to be hard fought competition.

Riding her own 10-year-old bay gelding Kolibri Classic, Chloe jumped a foot perfect double clear in a superb jump off time of 42.76 seconds. Jumping five seconds faster than 2nd place M.Bravo from Portugal, Chloe won the class in true style.

Chloe has been competing throughout the Vilamoura Tour and she has been consistently seen in the prize money. The beginning of the month, which was the first week of the tour, saw Chloe and Kolibri Classic come 3rd in the Grand Prix taking home their share of the €23,000 prize fund.

There were three other British riders who finished in the top twelve and in the prize fund, including Laura Renwick who came 4th riding Roller Coaster III, Henry Turrell who came 9th on Urlanmore Aldi and Tracey Newman who came 11th on Handels Kosmos.
