Scott Brash gave Great Britain their first win of the CSI 5*W show in Bordeaux on Saturday afternoon in the 1.45m Foire Internationale de Bordeaux aboard Hellow Annie owned by Lady Kirkham and Lady Harris.  Their blistering performance saw them break the finish line clear in a time of 58.36 seconds ahead of Carlos Enrique Lopez Lizarazo (COL) who finished in 58.58 seconds and Bertram Allen (IRL) with his time of 61.24 who took 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

Robert Smith with Cimano E, a 10 year-old grey gelding owned by Rebecca Ravilious, kept the Union Flag flying in the next class when he took the 1.45m Prix France Bleau speed class.  Their foot-perfect and incredibly fast time of 61.85 seconds gave them more than half a second lead ahead of Julien Epaillard (FRA) and Sheriff de la Nutria LM.  In a class that saw less than a second separating the top three placings it was Mario Wilson Fernandes (POR) that took 3rd with Tidelio des Nauves.

The World Cup qualifier was taken by Julien Epaillard (FRA) and Quatrin de la Roque LM.  Scott Brash and Ursula XII, also owned by Lady Kirkham and Lady Harris, jumped clear in the first round but unfortunately accrued 8 penalties in the jump off.
