British Showjumping Board Directors Appointed

British Showjumping is delighted to announce that the three Non-Executive Board Director vacancies which arisen as part of the term rotation have now been appointed.
The three voluntary positions have all been appointed for a three year term commencing from the 1st April 2015 and are as follows:
Stuart McInnes - Legal and Governance Non-Executive Board Director, British Showjumping
A Consultant at global law Firm, Squire Patton Boggs, who has since 2004, sat as an Arbitrator at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne , Switzerland. Stuart has sat on some 200 arbitrations and In 2012 he was appointed as one of twelve arbitrators to sit on the Ad Hoc Committee of the CAS for the 2012 Olympic Games, London and again for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, Brazil. He is also a Visiting Professor to the Instituto Superior Derecho y Economia in Madrid, Spain and regularly lectures at International Sports Conferences around the world.
On his appointment Stuart said “I am looking forward to joining the Board of British Showjumping and to sharing my experience with my new colleagues for benefit of the members. I hope that together we can contribute to continued development and success of showjumping in the UK in the coming years”
Alison Rankin Frost - PR & Communications Non-Executive Board Director, British Showjumping
An experienced non-executive Board Director who has also worked as an advisor at Board level across a number of organisations focusing on communications and public relations. Alison’s career has spanned a number of high profile, and often in the public spotlight, positions including the NHS National Cancer Rehabilitation Advisory Board and Royal Mail. She is a Patron of the Royal Shakespeare Company and on the steering group for the centenary, in 2018, of Women’s right to vote. A former president of the International Association of Business Communicators in the UK, Alison has also worked with a number of member and volunteer organisations including the Conservative Party and The Monday Night Club.
Commenting on her appointment “I am delighted to have accepted the position of Non-Executive Board Director for British Showjumping. I am an enthusiastic equestrian and returned to riding as an adult after a long break. It is a great sport for riders at every level and also for spectators. To bring my commercial experience to a sport that I am so passionate about is one that I am thrilled to be able to do and I look forward to helping to drive the sport forward ”.
Julia Biddle – Showjumping Specific Non Executive Board Director, British Showjumping
A member of the British Showjumping Non-Executive Board for the past two years, Julia was also a member of the former British Showjumping Management Board. A law graduate, a Level 3 Judge, a competing member, an international owner and sponsor Julia has also been a show venue proprietor, show organiser and both an Area and Regional Representative. Understanding all aspects of the sport, Julia brings a wealth of knowledge to the role of Sport Specific Non-Executive Director.
On her appointment Julia said “Showjumping is a sport that I am particularly passionate about and I am extremely pleased to have been given the continued opportunity of assisting to deliver the sport going forward”.
The three newly appointed Non-Executive Directors will join Les Harris (Chairman), Iain Graham (Chief Executive), Nicky Roche CBE (Finance), Rod Kohler (Sponsorship and Marketing), Kirsty Pearce (Showjumping Specific) whom hold the remaining Non-Executive Board positions.
