Ben Maher MBE takes top spot in CSI 3* $125,000 Grand Prix in Wellington, Florida.

World Number 2, Olympic and European Team Gold Medal winner Ben Maher MBE with Jane F Clark’s 13 year-old bay gelding Urico won the 1.60m $125,000 Horsewear Ireland Grand Prix that took place last weekend (15th March 2014) at the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida.

Out of a field of forty- five competitors only six managed to jump clear in the first round. All six also jumped faultlessly again in the jump off.  With less than a second between the top three, it was Ben that stopped the clock in the fastest time of 41.01 seconds, second was USA rider Lauren Hough with Ohlala who finished in 41.26 seconds and Germany’s Daniel Deusser with Fyloe vh Claeyssenhof finished third in 41.54 seconds.
