APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN FOR BEF ENGLAND EXCEL TALENT PROGRAMME AND BEF YOUNG PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMME
Tuesday 01 August 2017
Applications for the British Equestrian Federation (BEF) England Excel Talent Programme and BEF Young Professional Programme, funded by Sport England, are now open.
BEF Excel Talent Programme
Now embedded into the equestrian talent pathway, this programme extends the rider talent pathways which underpin the UK Sport funded World Class Programme, to help identify and nurture up-and- coming riders who have the potential to win medals in the future. Providing support to equestrian Olympic and Paralympic disciplines across dressage, para-dressage, eventing and showjumping, this year’s Excel Programme sees a reduction in the number of athletes accepted, to maximise funding and resources as well as offer a more tailored approach in delivery.
Applications for 2017-19 open on Tuesday 1 August and will be accepted until Thursday 31 August 2017. The selection criteria and application forms can be found here.
BEF Young Professional Programme
New this year, the BEF has launched an exciting new programme to support athletes moving out of the youth development pathway and give them a transition plan designed to help them be retained in the wider equestrian sport network. Facilitated by Hartpury College, and run in collaboration with British Dressage, British Eventing and British Showjumping, the Sport England funded cross-discipline Young Professional Programme has been designed to help support an individual’s personal development, career planning and enhancement. At the 12-month programme they have a wider and well-adapted skill-set that builds their confidence for continued work to thrive and earn a living in the equine industry.
Applications for 2017-18 open on Tuesday 1 August and will be accepted until Thursday 31 August 2017. The selection criteria and application forms can be found here.
