ADDINGTON MANOR EC PRO/AM CHAMPS PROVE TO BE A HIT

The Addington Manor Pro/Am Championships, which took place last week, were a real taster for amateur riders competing alongside their idols. Top riders such as Laura Renwick, Mark Armstrong and Paul Barker were amongst the many that took part.

Riders were asked to pair themselves (Amateur and Professional) prior to the show. Any unpaired riders were paired on the Wednesday and drawn randomly. Points were awarded in each of the large and small classes for the top 10 places. The total of the Amateur and Professional’s points were added together throughout each class.

The overall winners were, Laura Renwick and Leesa Long who between them notched up a score of 81 points. Second was Lynne Bevan and Mark Edwards who gained 68 points and third were James Smith and Sarah Mousley with 65 points.

Tim Price, Director of Addington Manor EC, ‘It was great to see so many riders hungry for a share of the prize money it put the competitive edge back into showjumping’.
