Keysoe Int'l - Friday Round Up

Friday 25 November 2016

The first day of Keysoe’s 3 day  FEI 2* Int'l show got underway in fine style with Louise Simpson proving unbeatable in the feature 1.40m.  Louise cruised into the top spot by an impressive 3.69 seconds riding Fiona V/H Lemmenshof, the Belgian bred daughter of Nonstop matching Louise’s fervour stride for stride.

Thirteen from forty-four starters reached the jump-off, with Dale Burnham claiming second spot on Doriena, an 8-year-old mare by Cardento.  Phillip Miller eased the 8-year-old Carthino Z stallion Da Vinci V into third ahead of fourth-placed Rose Moss on the nine-year-old Carlos F.

Michaela Huntington, a recent addition to British Showjumping’s ‘Step up to Gold’ programme, headed the 1.30m in fine style aboard Alegro Z.  The 8-year-old Asca Z daughter jumped into the top spot by 2.39 seconds.

William Rekert took second on the 7-year-old mare Tinkerbell W with Rose Moss just 0.41 seconds behind for third on the 13-year-old gelding Weston and five-star rider Laura Renwick in fourth aboard the seven-year-old mare Shiraz II.

William claimed his own win in the 1.20m, urging Daniek, a Zelote VDL 8-year-old mare, into victory to win by 0.80 seconds.  It was no mean feat, for several known speed merchants slotted in behind him. Rachael Connor and the 10-year-old mare B Valeree took second followed closely by Julian Mincher on Sid and Jackie Jones’ 8-year-old mare Dolanda in third and Corinne Collins in fourth with the 8-year-old Zacharov daughter Dolores P.

Rachael was assured of victory in the 1.10m, winning by 1.59 seconds on Lottie III, a 13-year-old by Oklund.  Alexandra Moorhouse claimed second on Diamond Chip, a 6-year-old sired by Chippison, beating Sweden’s Catherine Silfverling Jansson into third with OMS Wendeliena.
