Bruce Menzies & Sultan V secure the 2010 National Championship Title

Bruze Menzies from Horsham secured the crown in the Cushionbed National Championship class at the Cushionbed British Showjumping SCOPE Festival of Showjumping  at Stafford yesterday evening (Saturday 4th September 2010).

Only three combinations jumped clear in the second round and went through to the third round jump off.  Having come second in the Gentlemens Championship on Wednesday evening first to go Bruce wasn't hanging about and the big careful grey Sultan V finished clear in 34.60 seconds.  The following two combinations failed to jump clear leaving a delighted Bruce to claim the victory and the 2010 National Champion title.

British bred 8 year old Sultan V is owned and bred by Old Lodge who are based in Ashdown Forest.  This is Bruce's second year at the Festival and he was over the moon with his win.  Having produced the horse from a 4 year old he has secured the Foxhunter and Grace Championship titles at Horse of the Year Show and is now aiming for a place on a Nations Cup team next year.

Jumping commenced at this years Cushionbed British Showjumping Scope Festival of Showjumping for it's fourteenth consecutive year on Sunday morning and continued until Saturday 4th September.  This years show has an exciting new sponsor, Cushionbed, the first manufacturers of recycled wood fibre bedding of it's kind in Europe.
