BRITISH RIDERS IN THE MONEY!

British riders have once again enjoyed tremendous success throughout Europe over the weekend, securing top three places in three Grand Prix’s.

 

On the Spanish Sunshine Tour, Mark Armstrong riding the fourteen year-old bay mare Thesaura beat a world class field to take victory by less than two hundredths of a second from legendary French rider Michel Robert. Third place went to Rebecca Stones’ stunning bay stallion Peppermill, partnered by John Whitaker who produced the final double clear round of the competition.

Meanwhile in Braunschweig, Germany, Robert Whitaker riding Mandy Hall’s fifteen year-old bay gelding, Casino, finished in the runners up spot in the Braunschweig Volkswagen Grand Prix. Jumping one of only three double clear rounds of the entire competition, Robert finished second to Germany’s Lars Nieberg, beating Ireland’s Denis Lynch into third.

In Comporta, Portugal, Sophie Fawcett riding David Rogers’ Orion II took third place in the Grand Prix, missing out to France’s Penelope Leprevost and Belgium’s Francois Mathy Junior.
